As a church, we align with the Evangelical Alliance statements of faith.
Who is Jesus?
Jesus Christ is:
God's Son | Lord | Good Shepherd | God with us | Lamb of God | Light of the World | Lord of All | Saviour | Peace | The Way | The Truth | The Life | Risen | Our Hope | Our Judge | Almighty | The Beginning and the End | Head of the Church | I Am | Lion of the Tribe of Judah | Mighty One | Redeemer | Messiah | Victorious |
Jesus came to earth, lived a sinless life and voluntarily paid for our sin by dying on the cross. His death means that each person who believes is no longer charged for their own sin, but they are free from death and will live wonderfully and eternally with Him.
Jesus rose from the dead and made a way for us to come into a loving relationship with God the Father.
Forty days after Jesus rose from the dead, He ascended to Heaven where He now is. Jesus didn't leave His followers as orphans, rather He sent His Holy Spirit to live with and in all believers.
Why the Bible?
We believe that the Bible is the living Word of God. The Bible is inspired by God and recorded by human authors under this divine inspiration. It is fully trustworthy and is the ultimate authority for faith and understanding in life.
Why do you sing?
Throughout the Bible we learn of the importance of singing. It was a huge part of Jewish culture, something that Jesus and His disciples did, the early church continued with and something that Christians have continued to do throughout the centuries. We see singing not as a spectator sport, but rather as something that unites us and allows us to express, from our hearts, our love, thanks and amazement of Jesus. We sing songs of truth which allows those who don't know, to hear of and discover Jesus, as well as enabling us to learn and recall specific Bible truths as music is such an effective tool for memorisation.
What is a preacher?
A preacher is someone who will teach, inspired by the Holy Spirit, from the Bible to the church. We value our preachers who spend many hours studying, praying and preparing before teaching for 20-30 minutes as part of our Sunday Celebration.
There is also a call to every follower of Jesus; to proclaim (preach) the gospel (good news of Jesus) to all people. The passage below has inspired us to run our Love Crawley weekend where we talk to people about Jesus, pray for healing and offer people an opportunity to come and follow Jesus.
